Note: This is the sequel to my previous story entitled "Infiltration."

Maria laughed, "Are you serious? As if some invasion force made up of some lame Takigakure shinobi could actually pose any type of threat to us."

Hittokiri shook his head as he stood up, "You don't know Setsuna like I do, he has jutsu in his arsenal that could easily wipe out our hideout. A guy like that leading an invasion force of Takigakure's finest is overkill."

"If that's the case then we need to get back to the hideout and warn the others before Setsuna and his invasion force gets there," Daemen said as he crossed his arms across his chest.

Hittokiri nodded, "Right," he turned to Shiryuu, "I don't think I need to tell you that I'm really pressed for time here, can I really trust you to take care of Hikarin?"

"Of course," Shiryuu replied as he reached into his tattered cloak and pulled out a scroll, "Just sign your name on this scroll with your blood and you and I will be bound to one another under the code of the Metal Scorpion Clan."

"Okay," Hittokiri said before biting down on his thumb hard enough to draw blood as Shiryuu unraveled the scroll.

Pressing his thumb against the now open scroll Hittokiri hastily spelled out his name on it, "There."

Shiryuu smiled and rolled up the scroll as a black marking appeared underneath Hittokiri's right eye. "You and I are now bound to one another, which means I am now obligated to help you in any way I can. Do not worry, poison is something I have great knowledge in, after all, my true form is that of a giant metal scorpion."

Hittokiri turned away from Shiryuu as he scooped Hikari up in his arms, "All right guys, let's go."

"Wait."

Hittokiri turned back to Shiryuu, who now had Hikari slung over his shoulder. He was holding out a vial with a blue liquid in it. "This is one of many substances developed by the Metal Scorpion Clan. I imagine that the three of you are quite tired, this will help you recover most of your lost strength."

"Thanks," Hittokiri took the vial and drank from it before tossing it to Daemen, who took a swig of it before tossing it to Maria, who depleted the last of the vial's contents. Without saying another word the three shinobi jumped out of the whole in the wall of the tall tower.

Shiryuu smiled, "Grand Master Zerren will be pleased," he said to himself before he and Hikari disappeared in a plume of smoke.

A man with shoulder length blue hair landed atop a mountainous cliff, his white cloak billowing in the wind. Seconds later dozens upon dozens of Takigakure shinobi landed behind him, each one of them outfitted with the standard tan flak vest of a Takigakure Chuunin and Jonin.

"Setsuna," a woman dressed similarly to the blue haired man said as she placed a dainty hand on his shoulder, "The Akatsuki's base is somewhere in this vicinity. I can feel their chakra but each one has a rather erratic feel to it."

"Doppelgangers?" Setsuna questioned.

The woman frowned, "More than likely. It appears that they anticipated our arrival somehow. They're more than likely in hiding, waiting for us to let down our guard so they can launch a surprise attack."

"In that case," Setsuna said as he reached for the giant cleaver like blade strapped to his back, "I should flush them out."

"Are you really going to use that jutsu? Shouldn't you just use the enhanced vision of your-"

"No Mimari," Setsuna replied forcefully as he brought a hand to his right eye that was violet in color, "Since its only been recently implanted I still can't control the visual powers of this eye very well yet. Its best that I limit its use…"

Mimari sighed, "Do as you will then…"

Setsuna held his sword out with one hand as a veil of wind formed around him, "Everyone stand back!"

Heeding his order Mimari and the other Takigakure shinobi distanced themselves from the blue haired man as the cliff began to shake violently from the force of the pure wind element chakra Setsuna was exuding.

He looked down at the forest and several other landscapes that littered the ground at the foot of the cliff he was standing on as his blade began to vibrate violently, as well as the entirety of his body. "Wind Release…"

He swung his overly large blade in a downward arc as he yelled, "Synesthesia!"

Suddenly a bright color appeared near the edge of the forest below, slowly spreading outwards. Alarmed, some of the animals that dwelled within the forest ran way, their movement creating a red color.

Birds took flight as red bubbles and squares started to fill the treetops of the once tranquil forest. An unlucky bird flapped its wings frantically as it suddenly found itself caught in one of the floating red bubbles.

A large bear studied the ground curiously as dozens of red circles began to appear on the forest floor. It sniffed and scratched at one of them before a violent wind storm sprang forth, cutting deep swathes into the bear's flesh.

It roared in agony as one by one numerous red circles that painted the ground began to produce violent wind storms, entrapping many other curious animals. It wasn't long until the entire forest was filled with the cries of wildlife.

In no time at all the forest and its surrounding landscape was painted red and multiple sounds that sounded like rockets being shot off echoed throughout the area as everything that had been painted red by the destructive jutsu exploded.

Multiple sound waves bouncing back and forth at extremely high frequencies and colliding with one another eventually caused nearly everything in its radius to erode away. The explosions continued until there was absolutely nothing in its wake.

Setsuna smirked at his handiwork, that is, until he heard an unfamiliar voice. "That was quite an impressive jutsu."

Turning around Setsuna found that he and his invasion force were face to face with a group of people he knew to be the Akatsuki, as evidenced by the black clouds imprinted on their black and white cloaks.

The one who had spoken was the Akatsuki member known as Blindside. He had short white hair and the headband he wore depicted the crossed out symbol of the now defunct Otogakure. His entire face was covered in bandages. "Now," he began as his grip on the two H-shaped horizontal hand grips tightened, the blades of the weapons sitting above his knuckles, "Allow me to show you mine…"

Setsuna gripped his blade as he held his hand out, "What are you waiting for?!" He addressed his invasion force, "Prepare for battle! Don't let a single one of them escape here with their life!"

Daemen, Hittokiri, and Maria sped towards the location of their hideout, their matching cloaks of black, red, and white flapping noisily as they leaped from tree to tree.

"Are you sure it was a good idea to leave Hikari with that Shiryuu guy?" Maria asked as she landed on a thick tree branch before jumping to the next.

"If I didn't know you any better," Hittokiri said as he kept up his blisteringly fast pace, "I'd say you sound like you're actually worried about her."

"As if," Maria replied as she pushed herself a little harder to keep up with Daemen and Hittokiri's speed.

"Are you going to be okay with that injury?" Daemen questioned as he looked back at Maria, his gaze focused on her bandaged side.

"I'm fine, I've suffered through far worse injuries. I don't need your concern."

Just then an explosion sounded off in the distance, "Looks like we're too late…"

"Don't worry," Hittokiri said as he flipped over a particularly thick tree branch before landing on another and then jumping to the next. "I can sense Blindside and the others' chakra, they're fine, for now anyway."

"So we're just late to the party then? We'd better hurry up."

Maria frowned as both Daemen and Hittokiri suddenly stopped in their tracks. Jumping forward she grabbed hold of a tree branch and swung herself forward into a flip, landing next to her two comrades.

Her frown deepened as she saw the reason why the two had stopped. The group of trees before them were covered with hundreds upon hundreds of trip wires and explosive tags. "Setsuna's doing?" Daemen questioned.

Hittokiri nodded, "Yeah."

"Tch, how cowardly of him to set up traps to stall our return," Maria spat.

Daemen looked down at the ground below, "Well, if we can't use the treetops we're just going to have to do this on the ground then."

Hittokiri shook his head as another explosion went off in the distance, "Nah, that won't work. This is a two trigger trap. Obviously trying to move forward in the treetops will set the trap off, but if we try to move forward on the ground below the trap will still go off."

"Well that's…an effective trap," Daemen admitted.

"Yeah, it is. It'll take us a bit longer but it looks like we're going to have to take a detour," Hittokiri said with a sigh.

Maria frowned, "Tch, forget that. It'll be quicker if we just go over all of the traps."

Daemen and Hittokiri turned to Maria, giving her a questioning glance. "What do you mean go over it? I'm pretty sure none of us can fly Maria."

Maria rolled her eyes, "Thanks for pointing out the obvious," she formed a hand seal, "Get ready to gather chakra to your feet for water walking," she instructed as she formed two more hand seals.

Daemen and Hittokiri looked to one another before shrugging and doing as they were instructed by their kunoichi comrade.

Maria tilted her head backward as an angle before shouting, "Water Release: Violent Water Wave!"

A long and wide stream of water erupted from the kunoichi's mouth, shooting high into the sky at an extremely quick speed until it formed an arc from her position to the other side of the forest they were currently in a matter of seconds.

Daemen look up at the arc of water floating overhead and back at Maria, who had formed a single seal, "A bridge for us to walk on made out of water huh? Nice."

"I didn't know your affinity to Water Release was this strong," Hittokiri commented.

"Well, I am originally from Kirigakure, what did you expect? Anyway, we've already wasted enough time standing around, so come on you two, let's go." Maria said as she jumped on still floating arc of water and made her ascent upwards, Daemen and Hittokiri following closely behind her.

Several of the Takigakure Chuunin and Jonin closed in on one of the Akatsuki members, a woman with long white hair, their weapons drawn. She slashed to the right, her nodachi held in reverse position, and one of her attacker's head tilted back in a silent scream as a gout of blood filled the air before him.

Turning to her right and raising her nodachi in an upward arc her blade clashed with that of another, a burly man with an enraged expression on his face, "You bitch! That was my best friend!"

The woman grunted as the man pushed down on her, it was clear that his physical strength was greater than her own. Via her peripheral vision the woman spotted another of her assailant's closing in on her, the blade he held in his hand poised for attack.

"Swift Release: Flightless Shadow…," the woman muttered just as the young man's blade was inches away from piercing her skull.

In an instant she vanished and the young man's blade found its home in the skull of the

enraged man who only moments before had been in a sword lock with the white haired woman.

"What the-," the young man never got to finish his sentence as a backhand sword strike from the reappearing woman cleaved his head off.

"Swift Release: Flightless Shadow…,"As the young man's body fell to the ground the woman moved through the surrounding ninja like a whirlwind of death, striking each one of them down with frightening proficiency.

"Gina!"

The woman retracted her blade from the spine of a Takigakure shinobi and turned sharply, swinging her nodachi past her face, knocking the incoming shuriken aside.

A woman with azure hair was glaring daggers at her. The white haired woman now identified as Gina arched a brow, "Do I know you?"

The azure haired woman's frown deepened as she charged forward, her fist raised. Gina leapt into the air, bringing her nodachi down in a downward swing.

The azure haired woman stopped her charge and raised her left hand up, "Steel Release: Impervious Armor!"

The azure haired woman's hand instantly turned into black steel and Gina's nodachi shattered like so much glass as it clashed with it. The azure haired woman tightened her right fist as it too turned into black steel before punching forward, hitting Gina in the stomach and sending her flying backwards.

As soon as Gina's feet touched the ground she skidded several feet back, coming back to back with a brown haired woman with a ponytail who was dressed similar to her, "Are you okay Gina?" She questioned as she dodged a kunai swipe for her head and kicked her assailant away.

Gina's eyes narrowed as the azure haired woman charged towards her, her entire body converting into black steel, "I'm fine Kokoro," she muttered as she moved away to meet her opponent's charge.

Two other members of the Akatsuki, its co-leaders Amaya and Maddy were back to back as the Takigakure Jonin and Chuunin launched an all out assault on them.

One of the Chuunin charged forward, his blade drawn. Maddy bent down slightly as Amaya rolled off of her back and landed a kick on the Chuunin's sword hand, causing him to curse and the sword to clatter to the ground.

Amaya crouched as Maddy used her back for leverage and caught both of her feet on either side of the Chuunin's neck before sending him flying over her to crash into a group of Takigakure Jonin.

"Screw this!" One of the Takigakure Jonin yelled as she threw a spear that instantly burst into blue flames upon leaving her hands. Amaya and Maddy leaped upward, the spear hitting the floor where they had been with a small explosion. A second later, the light of the explosion died, leaving a four feet wide black scorch across the ground.

As the two leaders of the Akatsuki were still in mid jump another Takigakure shinobi was upon them, a halberd in his grip. The head of the weapon bursts into flames. He gripped the weapon low on the haft, for maximum reach, and swung at them.

Amaya formed a single seal, "Water Clone Technique!"

In an instant a perfect doppelganger of the woman appeared, the halberd stabbing into her. The doppelganger gasped before dispersing into water, dousing the flames of the halberd.

As the two rogue shinobi landed Amaya quickly turned and charged the halberd wielding shinobi, her hand encased in lightning infused chakra. "Chidori!"

"Shit!" The halberd wielding shinobi cursed, all too aware that he wouldn't be able to defend himself against his opponent's impromptu attack.

"Earth Release: Earth Style Wall!"

A giant wall of earth rises up in front of the halberd wielding shinobi just as Amaya thrusts her hand forward. Her lightning infused hand easily piercing the thick wall of earth but it stopped her attack midway through, allowing her opponent to jump back safely.

As Amaya began to pull her arm free the shinobi that had formed the wall of earth performed a series of seals, "Earth Release: Mud Prison!"

The wall of earth that Amaya's hand was currently embedded in began to dissolve into mud as it started to travel up her arm in an attempt to trap her. "I don't think so!" Amaya exclaimed as she gathered lightning nature chakra into both of her hands, sinking the one that wasn't stuck into the mud in an attempt to nullify the jutsu.

"I've got you now!" The halberd wielding shinobi exclaimed as he charged forward, the tip of his weapon igniting in flames once more.

Suddenly Maddy appeared next to his side and swung her fist, catching him on the side of the head, his halberd falling from his grip as a result. Cursing, he balled his hand into a fist and tried to strike back only for Maddy to lash out with one foot, catching him in the stomach and knocking the wind out of him.

As Maddy continued to kick the crap out of the winded shinobi Amaya broke free from the mud and charged the caster of the jutsu. The caster's eyes widened for he knew that in a battle of taijutsu he was screwed which is why he sighed in relief when a burly man wielding a battle axe with blue glowing runes etched into its side landed in front of him.

"Out of my way!" Amaya shouted as she began to form a few seals for a powerful jutsu that was sure to devastate her enemies.

Setsuna swung his oversized sword wide, Blindside ducking low under the swing, feeling the immense wind pressure that passed over his head. Setsuna continued the swing around and up, raising it over his head for a massive vertical swing.

Blindside leaped sideways as the giant blade crashed into the ground. Setsuna smirked as he drew his blade back, "You move quite well for someone who's essentially fighting blind."

Before Blindside could make his counterattack Setsuna lashed out with a horizontal stroke at chest level. Using the hilt of his weapon Blindside managed to deflect the blow before swinging a high stroke for Setsuna's head, who bent backwards beneath the blade and Blindside had to step back to avoid the blue haired man's kick.

Blindside stomped his foot, causing a condensed blast of concentrated sound to slam into Setsuna, who had managed at the last second to draw his blade close to his body to lessen the blow.

"Huh, well that's an interesting jutsu…"

"There's a lot more where that came from," Blindside replied as he charged forward.

"Setsuna!" A familiar voice called out, causing Blindside to halt his charge.

Setsuna looked up to see Hittokiri dropping down on him, sword first. Setsuna stepped sideways at the last second before jumping back to land a few feet away, his sword held at the ready, "Hittokiri…"

Hittokiri raised his blade, turning slightly to look back at Blindside, "Hey, this guy's mine, but I'm sure there are plenty of other mooks around for you to fight."

Just then Blindside turned on his heel and jabbed his weapon forward, which easily pierced through the stomach of a shinobi that had tried to get the drop on him. "Vibrating Sound Drill!"

The shinobi gasped as his intestines were ripped out by the powerful jutsu before slumping to the ground in a bloody heap. "You're right about that Hittokiri," Blindside said before running off to join the newly arrived Daemen and Maria in battle.

"Hey, isn't there something you want to say to me?" Hittokiri questioned as he charged his blade with lightning infused chakra, looking at Setsuna expectantly.

"Only that this time you shall not survive," Setsuna replied as he funneled his blade with wind infused chakra.

"Heh," Hittokiri said before he lunged forward, swinging his blade, and steel rang against steel.

"Wind Release: Hurricane Blade!" A gale force wind erupted from Setsuna's sword.

"Lightning Release: Rising Thunder!" A wide arc of lightning shot forward and collided head on with Setsuna's attack, both techniques instantly canceling one another out.

Setsuna frowned, "So, did you do it? Did you kill my father?" He asked as he swung at his cousin, intending to strike his sword into his shoulder.

Hittokiri caught his blade perfectly with his own, blocking the full force of the swing without turning any of it as he answered, "Nah, I did kick his ass pretty good though, even though he had a little help from Shiryuu."

"I see," Setsuna replied as he quickly pulled back and struck twice more, each time Hittokiri matching his blow. Setsuna spun on the spot, bringing up his left leg for what was sure to be a devastating roundhouse kick.

His leg collided in the air with that of Hittokiri's as he performed the same move. Setsuna pulled back quickly and so did Hittokiri. "Having fun copying my every move?" Setsuna questioned in irritation.

"I dunno," Hittokiri said with a grin, "You tell me."

Setsuna moved in again, with a vertical strike this time. Hittokiri met his blow with the edge of his sword, the two blades perfectly against each other. Holding his blade tight against his cousin, Setsuna swung his left fist towards Hittokiri's face, stopping short since his cousin had quickly drawn his second blade and held it up in front of his path.

"What's the matter?" Hittokiri mocked as Setsuna jumped back in order to gain some distance.

"I'm not stupid," Setsuna replied, "I can barely keep up with you when you're using one sword so there's no way I can match you if you're using two," he frowned, "Its just as you said in our last fight, when it comes to close combat you're my superior. Which means I'll have to rely on my ninjutsu to defeat you, just as I did before!"

Setsuna sheathed his blade before performing three quick seals, "Wind Release: Gale Edge!" He shouted as he made a slashing motion with his arm, his finger tips leaving a trail of air that was so packed it was visible.

Hittokiri responded by quickly sheathing his blades and performing three quick seals of his own, "Storm Release: Thunder Cloud Inner Wave!"

A thick ring of thunderclouds and electricity formed around Hittokiri, defending him from Setsuna's attack. With a grin powerful blasts of lightning arched from the thunderclouds that were currently surrounding Hittokiri, Setsuna doing his absolute best to avoid them.

'Dammit, at this rate I'm going to have to use this eye power of mine,' Setsuna thought to himself as his sleeve was burned off as a blast of lighting zipped past him, grazing a large portion of his skin.

Raising his hands as more bolts of lightning shot his way Setsuna yelled, "Wind Release: Aeroga Sphere!" A barrier of dense air immediately surrounded him, although it was clear that by the way it wavered it wouldn't be able to protect him from Hittokiri's attacks for more than ten seconds.

'I've gotta make this quick,' Setsuna thought to himself as he began to form the seals for one of his most destructive jutsu.

Unfortunately for him Hittokiri recognized the series of seals, "You're not going to defeat me with that jutsu again Setsuna! Storm Release Secret Technique: Demon Dragon Storm!"

The thunderclouds that surrounded Hittokiri began to merge with one another, becoming one massive thundercloud. Setsuna's eyes widened in surprise as his Aeroga Sphere simply vanished and all of the chakra he had prepared for his next jutsu was drained out of him, "What the hell?"

Hittokiri smirked as he absorbed the massive thundercloud that was now pulsing with Setsuna's chakra into his body, "Thanks for the chakra Setsuna," Hittokiri said as he unsheathed his two blades and raised them into the air, drawing them together "But don't worry, I'm going to put it to good use, Lightning Release: Lightning Dragon Tornado!"

Lightning erupted from Hittokiri's body, forming into a whirling vortex of wind and electricity. As the vortex took on the head of a dragon Setsuna cursed to himself as he closed his left eye, a blue flame made of chakra flaring up from his right eye. "Kinetic Release: Earthrender!"

A blast of blue energy erupted from Setsuna's eye and slammed into the dragon shaped vortex…doing absolutely nothing, or so it seemed. As soon as Setsuna was about to be devoured by Hittokiri's powerful jutsu it vibrated violently before it was ripped apart from the inside out, leaving Setsuna virtually unharmed.

As Setsuna fell to one knee, his violet eye losing its color, Mimari appeared by his side. "Setsuna…you already know the risks of using that eye, so why use a jutsu as powerful as Earthrender?"

Setsuna panted heavily, as he held his eye, it seemed like the jutsu he had performed took quite a toll on his body. "I had no choice, besides, I thought I told you to stay hidden Mimari, I don't want you to get hurt."

Mimari shook her head, "You should already know that if your life is in danger that I won't just sit by idly."

Just then Hikari appeared by Hittokiri's side, surprising him slightly, "Hikarin? Are you…feeling okay?"

"I'm fine," she said as she gestured to Shiryuu, who was watching Hittokiri expectantly, "And so are the others."

Hittokiri turned to see the other members of the Akatsuki watching him, they had a few injuries, but nothing life threatening. Apparently the invasion force fell without Hittokiri even noticing.

Hittokiri sheathed one of his blades, "Setsuna…was that…a doujutsu technique you just used?"

Setsuna looked up at his cousin, a smirk on his face, "Its called the Tenraigan…it has power over kinetic energy itself. I…acquired it as a spoil of battle."

"So you're saying you snatched it out of some poor sucker's eye socket huh?" Hittokiri said as he shook his head, "Man, you really have fallen…"

Setsuna laughed, "I've fallen? That's funny coming from a rogue shinobi, especially one who has absolutely no chance at becoming anything more than he already is. I on the other hand will go on to change the very foundation of this world."

"Hmph, that's pretty big talk coming from someone who looks as if he's at death's door, besides, you don't honestly think I'm going to let you live do you?"

Mimari stepped in front of him, already forming the necessary hand seals for an escape jutsu.

Hikari quickly sprung into action, "Water Release: Water Whip!"

Before Mimari could finish her hand seals a whip made of water wrapped around her, halting her movement. "He's all yours, Hittokiri," Hikari said.

Hittokiri nodded, "Thanks Hikarin."

As he charged forward a man wearing a white cloak similar to the one Setsuna and Mimari were currently wearing appeared alongside Hittokiri, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Hittokiri instantly froze in place, as if time itself has stopped, the man vanished and then reappeared next to Setsuna and Mimari, placing a hand on the whip made of water that bound the woman, causing it to instantly evaporate, surprising Hikari and the others.

"Who are you?" Hikari shouted, "And what did you do to Hittokiri?" She added, noticing that her boyfriend was still frozen in mid run for some reason.

The man ran a hand through his jet black hair as he ignored Hikari's question and the Akatsuki members that now had him, Setsuna, and Mimari surrounded. He looked down at Setsuna with his golden eyes, "Setsuna, we've managed to locate the possessor of the spatial deconstruction Tenraigan, I think it'll go quite nicely with the spatial construction one you already have, wouldn't you agree."

"What are you talking about?" Daemen questioned as he and the others closed in on the three.

"That's good news, that means I'll finally be able to use the power of the Tenraigan's true form, the Kamijou," Setsuna replied as he stood up, albeit shakily, "Unfreeze Hittokiri, there's something I want to say to him before we go."

"You're not going anywhere," Maria said, rather irritated that she and the entirety of the Akatsuki were being ignored.

"Very well," the man said as he snapped his fingers and Hittokiri instantly stumbled forward, barely able to stop himself from falling face forward.

"What the hell just happened?" Hittokiri questioned no one in particular, "And who the hell are you?" He asked upon seeing someone he didn't recognize next to Setsuna and Mimari.

"Hittokiri…," Setsuna began, still holding a hand to his right eye, which was slowly regaining its color, "You've have won this battle, but when next we meet I will have taken a step in the realm of God." And with that the three seemingly blinked out of existence, leaving the Akatsuki members dumbfounded as to what had just happened.

Shiryuu frowned as a single thought went through his mind, 'It has begun…'
